Introduction to the Project Uganda expedition

Uganda flag

Uganda is not a large country by African standards and much of its charm lies in its intimacy and compactness. It is a beautiful country and has a great deal to offer any visitor.

Many schools in Uganda lack basic facilities and students are unable to take exams and continue their education because of this. This is a valuable opportunity for World Challenge teams to undertake substantial project work during their three week expedition, with the possibility of maintaining links with these schools on their return.

Uganda World Challenge Our Challengers loved…

Arriving in our project village to hoards of children, spending the first afternoon singing, dancing and organising games. After the initial excitement they go stuck into the hard work, working alongside local labourers to help complete building a classroom. The manual work was mixed in with teaching English and performing songs. The challengers were able to get truly immersed in the community and it certainly changed the perspectives of many of the team.
